Felony OWI 4th Offense
On Friday, March 31, 2023 at 7:54 pm, Middleton Police officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Pleasant View Road for a report of a truck in the ditch. This portion of Pleasant View Road is currently closed for road construction.
Officers arrived and developed probable cause that David Zingg, 57-years old of Waunakee, had been driving the truck. Zingg had a strong odor of intoxicants coming from his person and an open bottle of vodka inside the vehicle.
After failing field sobriety testing, Zingg was arrested for 4th offense operating while under the influence (OWI). Zingg submitted to a chemical test of his breath, which indicated his blood-alcohol level was .20. The legal limit in Wisconsin is .08.
Zingg was transported to the Dane County Jail and booked on the tentative 4th OWI charge. He was issued citations for open intoxicants, and multiple moving violations.
