Two Suspects Arrested for Arson in Multi-family Complex Fire

On January 9th, 2023, at approximately 1:00 A.M. the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a fire in the 1000 Block of Golf Course Dr.  During the time of the initial investigation, it was unclear on how the fire started.  The resident was not home at the time of the initial fire; however, came home to the smell of smoke in the home.

Due to suspicious circumstances the investigation remained ongoing. It was assigned to an arson investigator who is part of the Community Oriented Problem Solving Team. It was determined the victim’s condominium had been vandalized and evidence located indicated the fire had been intentionally set.  After two months of investigation, the investigating officers were able to identify two suspects who conspired to damage the victim’s residence and set it on fire. This was not a random act of violence; rather, a planned attack to the victim’s property.

The suspects, former tenants, were identified as 26 year old Danesha Morales of San Francisco and 36 year old Breanna Lewis of San Francisco.  On March 2, 2023 Danesha Morales was arrested and on March 31, 2023 Breanna Lewis was located and arrested.  Both were booked into the Sonoma County Jail on the charges of 451 (b) PC, Arson of an Inhabited Structure, 459 PC, Burglary and 594(a)(2) PC, Felony Vandalism.

Based on the complexity of this investigation and to maintain the integrity of the case, no further information will be released at this time.

One resident of the building is still displaced as a result of the fire and the amount of damage to the property is estimated at $200,000.
