Winter Weather Advisory until 09:00PM Tuesday

* WHAT...Snow expected above 8500 feet. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches with locally higher amounts on the southwest facing slopes. Winds gusting as high as 80 mph.

* WHERE...Uncompahgre Plateau and Dallas Divide, Northwest San Juan Mountains and Southwest San Juan Mountains.

* WHEN...From 6 PM Monday to 9 PM MDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility, especially on ridge tops. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage. The cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. A detailed map of the snowfall can be found at: www.weather.gov/gjt/winter.
