Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Armed Business Robbery Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with an armed business robbery that occurred today, Sunday, April 2, 2023.
At approximately 4:03 p.m., a male entered a business in the 700 block of South Orange Avenue and brandished a handgun before forcing a store clerk into the cashier area and taking approximately $50.00 in cash. The suspect then fled the scene on foot, heading onto Grand Avenue towards Tremont Avenue.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5'9" tall with a medium build, a dark-brown complexion, wearing a black Nike hooded sweater, black sweat pants, a black ski mask, and white Nike sneakers.
