Public Safety Message: Motor Vehicles Blocking Sidewalks And Other Parking Violations:

The Caldwell Police Department would like to remind residents and business owners that they should not be blocking sidewalks with their vehicles as this is a violation of state motor vehicle laws. Blocking a sidewalk with a motor vehicle in front of your residence or business forces pedestrians to walk into the roadway and places them at risk of getting struck by passing motorists.

Violators will be ticketed for violating N.J.S.A: 39: 4-138(f), Improper parking on a sidewalk. This summons comes with a fine of $55.00.

Reminder: Officers are actively enforcing vehicles that are parked illegally in prohibited areas along Bloomfield Avenue and side streets. Please make sure you adhering to local and state parking regulations. We have received daily complaints that vehicles are parking on yellow curb lines and where parking prohibited signs are posted. Caldwell Borough Ordinance -§ 230-28 -No parking, stopping or standing (Fine $70.00).

Thank you in advance for helping us keep the pedestrians and motorists in Caldwell safe!
