Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.

On April 1, at approximately 8:54 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were on patrol in the 1200 block of North Clayton Street, when they conducted a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation. Officers made contact with the operator of the vehicle – 22-year-old Angel Cruz – who was acting in a suspicious manner. Following a brief investigation, officers recovered a 9mm handgun, and a small quantity of marijuana. Cruz was taken into custody without incident.

Cruz was charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic offenses:

• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
• Possession of Marijuana
