The Oakland Police Department arrested two juveniles for the homicides of Angel and Jazy Sotelo. The fatal shooting occurred on October 1, 2022, in the 900 block of Apgar Street.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged one of the juveniles with the crime.
BACKGROUND:
The Oakland Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Oct 1, 2022, in the 950 block of Apgar Street, shortly before 10:00 PM. When officers arrived they located multiple victims who sustained gunshot wound(s). Officers attempted life saving measures on two victims, but unfortunately they succumbed to their injuries at the scene. OPD officers located a third victim who sustained a gunshot wound(s). Officers provided medical treatment to the third victim until they were relieved by paramedic personnel prior to the victim being transported to an area hospital for additional medical treatment. Officers from the Emeryville Police Department (EPD) responded to the scene to assist and located a fourth victim who sustained a gunshot wound(s). This victim was also transported to an area hospital for additional medical treatment. The current medical status of the victims who were transported to area hospitals is unknown at this time.
Investigators from the OPD Homicide Section responded to the scene to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
