SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Fatal Car Crash
DATE AND TIME: Approximately 11:33 P.M. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023
LOCATION: County Farm Road near Huck Drive, Sidney Township

At approximately 11:33 P.M., the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office was sent to a report of a crashed vehicle in a ditch along County Farm Road near Huck Drive in Sidney Township. The Sheridan Fire Department arrived first to find the vehicle still occupied. The responders began life saving measures on the occupant; however, the occupant was prounounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that a red, 1997 Ford Ranger pickup, driven by a 32-year-old male from Howard City, was headed westbound on County Farm Road. The tire tracks revealed that the vehicle gradually left the road to the right and continued for approximately 200 yards before striking a tree. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle, and he wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. There were no other known contributing factors in the crash.
In addition to the Sheridan Fire Department, the Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Montcalm County Central Dispatch, Montcalm County Emergency Medical Service, and the Michigan State Police
