Gloucester Township Police Media Release- House Fire Displaces Resident
On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at approximately 5:34 pm, Gloucester Township Police responded to Briar Lane located in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township, New Jersey for a report of a dwelling fire. Arriving officers found smoke and flames coming from the residence. As fire apparatus were arriving, officers ensured that the residence and neighboring homes were evacuated as a precaution.
Gloucester Township Fire Departments from Gloucester Twp. Squad 88, Glendora Fire Company (Station 81), Chews Landing Fire Department (Station 82), Blenheim Fire Co. (Station 83), Blackwood Fire Company (Station 84), Erial Gloucester Township Fire District 6 (Station 86) and Lambs Terrace Fire Company (Station 85) along with Pine Hill Fire Department and Magnolia Fire Company Sta. 29 arrived and quickly gained control of the fire. The home was occupied by one resident who attempted to extinguish the fire resulting in injuries. He was transported to Jefferson Hospital located in Philadelphia to be treated for his injuries.
At this time the fire does not appear suspicious and will remain under investigation by the New Jersey State Fire Marshal's Office and Lambs Terrace Fire Department Station 85.
