Three events to help tidy up Fairview and your home will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 15.

Pitch in with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to help pick up trash and debris in Fairview parks and along streets and trails. Bring your gloves and trash pickers/grabbers or any tools you find useful. The Town will supply trash bags. Advisory board members will provide guidance on where volunteers should start cleaning. Fairview’s Public Works team will collect the trash bags filled and left by volunteers at clean-up sites. To participate, meet up near the east entrance of Fairview Town Hall, 372 Town Place, at 9 a.m.

Fairview’s annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection event will be held at the Fairview Public Works yard, located at 500 S. State Highway 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring and dispose of any allowable hazardous waste items. To participate, residents must show a valid driver’s license with a Fairview address or a Town-issued water bill at the drop-off.

A community document shred event will also be held at the Fairview Public Works yard, 500 S. State Highway 5, beginning at 9 a.m. A maximum of 10 file storage boxes (approximately 10x12x15 inches in size) per resident may be shredded. Document shredding will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until 2 p.m. or the maximum capacity is reached, whichever occurs first. To participate, residents must show a valid driver’s license with a Fairview address or a Town-issued water bill at the drop-off.
