On April 3, the Lassen County's Sheriff's Office arrested 40-year-old Fairfield resident Milton Jay O'Neal, Jr., also known as "Porkchop", for a fatal stabbing that occurred in Fairfield in October of last year. The Sheriff's Office worked closely with the Fairfield Police Department, whose Investigations Unit had secured a no bail warrant for O’Neal’s arrest and been diligently tracking him since the incident.

The murder occurred on October 29, at around 2:45 PM, when Fairfield Police Dispatch received a call that a man had been stabbed in the 300 block of Jefferson Street. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. O'Neal was soon identified as the suspect.
 
In the wake this week’s arrest, O'Neal has been transported to Solano County Jail for murder in the first degree.

Today at around 2:45 PM, Fairfield Police Dispatch received a call that a man had been stabbed in the 300 block of Jefferson Street. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries. 

Investigations immediately responded and took over the case, swiftly naming 40-year-old Milton O’Neal, residence unknown, as the person of interest. It is believed that O’Neal and the victim knew each other and there is no threat to the public at this time. Fairfield Police continues to actively investigate the case and the current whereabouts of O’Neal, who also goes by the nickname “Porkchop”.
