In the afternoon of April 6th, a Simi Valley Police Department traffic officer attempted to make an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Sycamore Dr and Fitzgerald Rd.  The vehicle failed to yield and continued driving, eventually stopping on Royal Ave.  The driver, who was identified as Alex Lopez a 28 year-old Simi Valley resident, fled the vehicle on foot.

An observant citizen provided updated information to dispatch on Lopez's direction of travel and that he was able to gain possession of a bicycle in an attempt to assist his get away.  Lopez was eventually taken into custody by officers arriving in the area.

Lopez was found to have two felony warrants, one for being a felon in possession of a firearm and another for felony evading.  Lopez was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility for the warrants, a fresh felony violation of probation, and two fresh misdemeanors of failure to yield and resisting or delaying a police officer.
