Police Seek the Public’s Help Identifying Robbery Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a robbery that occurred on Friday, March 31, 2023.
At approximately 4:45 p.m., Police responded to Grumman Avenue near Parkview Terrace on a call of a robbery. Detectives investigating this incident obtained video footage of the suspect entering through a victim’s fence and striking and robbing the victim. The suspect is also observed fleeing the location by running across the street and through the backyards of area residents.
The suspect is described as a Black male, 5'10” tall, wearing dark-colored pants, black ski masked, black "New Balance" sneakers, and navy blue jacket with the American flag on the back.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
