DETAILS:  Sgt. W. Jones observed a gray Honda sedan speeding on U.S. Route 1. As he closed the distance on the car, he also observed it make an unsafe lane change. He initiated a stop on the car and determined that the driver, John Goodwin, was DWI. Goodwin was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to ULTA for a shoplifting that had just occurred. The shoplifter had left the store and was observed getting into a black Lexus sedan. Ptl. Hojnacki arrived on scene before the car could leave and detained Sheron Savage. Investigation determined that Savage had concealed $1,061.00 worth of designer fragrances into a bag she was carrying. She then paid for a cosmetic product, but none of the fragrances and left the store. Savage was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Units responded to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Washington Rd. Officers arrived to find a gray Nissan sedan overturned in the shoulder of the roadway and another car heavily damaged in the intersection. Investigation found that a Nissan sedan driven by Miguel A. Hernandez-Padilla went through two red traffic signals on U.S. Route 1 before hitting two cars that were crossing the intersection at Washington Rd. Debris from the crash also damaged a fourth car. Hernandez-Padilla was determined to be DWI. He was transported to the hospital as a precaution. Hernandez-Padilla was charged with DWI and has future dates with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Target for a shoplifting in progress. Sgt. Brodowski was already in the retail complex and met with store Asset Protection outside. Two suspects were at the self-checkout and had a cart full of packages of Tide PODS laundry detergent (valued at $295.23) which they paid $6.40 in total for by scanning a $1 bar code six times. Anthony Smith pushed the cart full of detergent out of the store, followed by the other suspect, and they were detained by Sgt. Brodowski. When Sgt. Brodowski went to arrest Smith, he tried to get away and ran. Smith only got a short distance away before Sgt. Brodowski caught up to him and took him down to the ground to effect the arrest. While this was going on, the other suspect ran off, and got into a black Nissan Altima sedan which sped away at a high rate of speed. Sgt. Brodowski suffered minor injuries as a result of the arrest. Smith was processed at WWPD Headquarters and committed to the Mercer County Corrections Center.

Arrested: Emiah D. Lewis

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to TJ Maxx for a shoplifter in the store who was being watched by Loss Prevention. Sgt. Brodowski and Ptl. Caulfield were outside of the store when Emiah Lewis exited carrying two bags full of clothing that she did not pay for. Lewis provided officers with fake names and date of births. When her true identity was discovered, Lewis was found to have warrants for her arrest from Lawrence, Ewing, and Hamilton. She was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. Lewis was processed at WWPD Headquarters. She later claimed that she was feeling sick and transported to the hospital. Ewing police took custody of Lewis at the hospital on their arrest warrant.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to a shoplifting in progress at Ulta Beauty. Ptl. K. LaForge arrived on scene as the shoplifter was exiting the store and got into a silver Nissan sedan. Ptl. LaForge stopped the vehicle and identified the shoplifter as Joelyn Alexander. Investigation found that Alexander had concealed $704.00 worth of designer fragrances into a bag that she was carrying. She paid for a few items at the register, but not for the fragrances already in her bag. Alexander was also found to have a warrant for her arrest from Trenton. She was processed at WWPD Headquarters and turned over to the Trenton Police on their arrest warrant.

DETAILS: Patrol Units responded to a crash near the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Harrison St. Investigation found that a black Lexus SUV had struck the rear of a black Honda SUV. The driver of the Honda was slowing down for a yellow light when her vehicle was hit from behind by the Lexus being driven by Surajeet Dev. Officers determined that Dev was DWI. Dev was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Target for three shoplifters who were being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation found that Chaoxin Tang, Wei Tang, and Qiqiang Chen attempted to make returns on several electronic devices but were denied. They then went to the baby formula section of the store where they collectively grabbed eleven (11) containers of Enfamil baby formula (valued at $516.89) and exited the store past all points of sale without paying. Chaoxin Tang presented officers with a fake New York State driver’s license identifying him as someone else, and was also in possession of two knives. All three were processed at WWPD Headquarters and have appearance dates pending with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Chowanec was detailed to Target for a shoplifter who was being detained by Asset Protection. Investigation found that Rebecca OConnor had concealed $469.86 worth of merchandise into shopping bags. She then proceeded to the Starbucks CafĂ© located inside Target and enjoyed a hot beverage. A short while later, she loaded the bags into a shopping cart and exited the store without paying. OConnor was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.
