A resident of Chatsworth came to the Simi Valley Police Department to report her 2006 white Ford van stolen. The van was equipped with a tracking device pinging in Simi Valley. Officers saturated the area of the last ping and located a black sedan occupied by four subjects. The occupants were detained, and the tracking device from the van was found in the sedan’s back seat. The stolen van was later located near the intersection of Bidwell Street and Marshall Ave.

The occupants, Josue Adonay Chavez (20 years), Jesus Salamanca (23 years), Paola Montoya (20 years), and Erick Ramos (21 years), all residents of Los Angeles, admitted to stealing the van and removing the tracker. All four subjects were arrested for 182(a) PC - Conspiracy, 10851 PC - Stolen Vehicle, 466(a) - Possession of burglary tools, and 148.9 PC - Providing False information to a Police Officer. Additionally, Salamanca had an outstanding warrant from Los Angeles County for vehicle tampering.
