Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Hit and Run
On April 9th, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the 400 block of East First Street while walking westbound on the north shoulder. The driver accelerated after the collision and fled the scene continuing westbound toward Main Street. The pedestrian (Cloverdale Resident Adult Male, 30) was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition.
A piece of the vehicle separated during the collision and was recovered at the scene. The car part is a black plastic bumper grille with two (one black and one red) decorative (non-functional) heart-shaped “hand straps” attached so as to hang below the bottom edge of the front bumper (photo attached).
The suspect vehicle is a white 2009-2010 Toyota Corolla (possibly XRS trim) with unique/distinctive custom red accents along the lower sides and around the wheel wells. Aside from missing its bumper vent grille, vehicle damage is unknown.
