OPD Makes Arrests Connected to an Auto Burglary
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) arrested two individuals in connection with an auto burglary.
On April 7, 2023, officers assigned to the Ceasefire Division located a vehicle wanted in connection with an auto burglary. As officers conducted an enforcement stop, two individuals fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, both individuals were safely taken into custody while in possession of two loaded firearms.
Both recovered handguns were equipped with an attachment making the firearms fully automatic. Officers also recovered an assault rifle with a large capacity magazine in the vehicle the individuals were operating.
Due to the hard work and determination of OPD, officers have recovered nearly 300 firearms this year.
