US 550 Red Mountain Pass north of Silverton [ 2:00 p.m.]
CDOT will implement a closure at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon while crews perform avalanche mitigation along multiple sections of US 550 between Silverton and Ouray. The highway is expected to be closed for most of the afternoon with no exact time of reopening.
Travelers should expect lengthy closures of up to 3 hours Tuesday afternoon while CDOT maintenance crews perform avalanche mitigation and snow removal operations on multiple #southwestcolorado mountain passes.
CO 145 Lizard Head Pass North of Rico [ 1:00 p.m.]
The closure on CO 145 between Rico and Trout Lake will begin at 1:00 p.m. today and is expected to last up to 3 hours depending on the success of maintenance operations. Crews will work to mitigate avalanches and remove snow from the highway.
