The Township of Byram seeks a community-oriented, experienced, and educated professional for a full-time Recreation Director position.

Demonstrated experience required in operation of recreation activities. A successful candidate must lead, oversee, and participate in recreational program activities in a recreation setting or other facility. Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Under supervision, leads, organizes, and oversees recreation programs and activities for an assigned group; assists with activity planning, implementation and evaluation; does other related work as required. Graduation from an accredited College or University with a bachelor's degree with a major concentration in one of the following areas: Recreation, Physical Education or Health Science is preferred.  The following valid certifications are desirable and preferred: Recreation Supervisor issued by the New Jersey Board or Recreation Examiners or as a National Recreation and Park Association certified Leisure Professional, certifications in CPR and First Aid, certifications for Park Management and Liabilities, Playground and Field Safety. Candidate must have valid Rutgers Youth Sports Research Council Safety certification, valid NJ driver's license and must pass a background check.
