The New Jersey Infrastructure Bank (I-Bank) recently authorized the advertisement for bids for the installation of PFAS treatment for our water system. The bids were advertised on April 6, 2023 and will be opened on May 4, 2023. As part of this authorization, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has made a preliminary decision to assist the Borough by financing the improvements. The proposed loan amount is $5,000,000, which currently includes $500,000 of principle forgiveness.
 
After bids are opened, the project engineer and the I-Bank must review the bids and make a recommendation to award a contract. We expect to consider a contract award at a meeting of the Mayor and Council on May 23, 2023. We will send another project update once a contract is awarded.
 
The project specifications require project completion within 350 days. We will share a more detailed timeline and a more specific projected completion date after a contract is awarded and construction materials are ordered.
