Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Shoplifting Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspect, who stole several bottles of soda from a discount store on April 9, 2023.
At approximately 4:40 p.m., the suspect walked into the Dollar Tree at 189 Springfield Avenue. He made his way to the rear of the store, taking six bottles of soda that he put in his bag. An employee attempted to get the suspect to return the items, but the man walked out of the store and headed westbound on Springfield Avenue.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
