SMPD Actively Investigating A Shooting
The San Mateo Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred during the early morning hours of Friday, April 14, 2023. At approximately 12:58 a.m., SMPD patrol officers responded to the unit block of 37th Avenue on the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 26-year-old male victim who had a minor scrape to his ankle after being grazed by a gunshot.
SMPD initiated an investigation and quickly learned this was an isolated and targeted incident. The San Mateo Police Department is working vigorously to bring all responsible parties to justice.
