The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Tornado Warning for... Northwestern Monroe County in southwestern Illinois... Southwestern Madison County in southwestern Illinois... Northern St. Clair County in southwestern Illinois... St. Louis City in east central Missouri... Southeastern St. Louis County in east central Missouri...

* Until 730 PM CDT.

* At 639 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Maplewood, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near... St. Louis, Granite City, East St. Louis, Cahokia, Madison, Venice, Fairmont City, Wellston, and Brooklyn around 645 PM CDT. Collinsville, Pontoon Beach, and Washington Park around 650 PM CDT. Caseyville around 655 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of this tornadic thunderstorm include Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Maryville and Troy. This also includes Scott Joplin Historic Site and Horseshoe Lake State Park. This includes the following highways... Interstate 55 in Illinois near exit 23. Interstate 64 in Illinois between exits 9 and 19.
