Major Road Closures for Monday April 17, 2023 
The City of Belleville was informed by Norfolk Southern Railroad that there will be major track/crossing repairs to South St (Sumpter Rd.) and E. Columbia Ave. (Savage Rd) locations. This repair will close the roadway entirely beginning TODAY (4/17/2023) at approximately 10:00 AM.
Norfolk Southern states that they are laying new track down and filling roadway cuts in the crossings. The repair train is approximately 1.5 miles in length. They advised us they would make notifications on their progress of the project.
Please plan alternate routes around these location for the duration of the project. Use Elwell Rd. or Martinsville Rd. to egress North and South of location. Huron River Dr. for East/West directions.
The City of Belleville has put in place contingency plans to provide uninterrupted emergency services during this time. Local schools have also been informed. Additional Nixle alerts to follow. As always be safe and thank you for your patience.
