The City of East Chicago would like to inform our residents and corporate partners in the vicinity of the Dickey Road and 129^th Street Roundabout that the roundabout will be temporarily closed for traffic between Wednesday, April 19^th and Friday, April 21^st.  This closure is being implemented to install pavement marking improvements and curb painting.  The existing pavement markings are worn out and new and improved pavement markings are needed for the roundabout.  The installation of new pavement markings will facilitate positive driver guidance which will lead to improved traffic operations and safety for all drivers using the roundabout.  The existing pavement markings will be removed on Wednesday (4/19) and Thursday (4/20) and markings will be installed on Thursday (4/20) and Friday (4/21).  All Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) signage will be installed to guide the traffic during the closure of the roundabout.
Weather permitting, the entire work will be completed by Friday, April 21^st.  We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause and thank you for your patience.  If you have any questions, please call William Allen at the City Engineering Department.
