Police Seek the Public’s Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspects

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, April 15, 2023.
 
At approximately 3:40 p.m., Police responded to the 900 block of 18th Avenue on an armed robbery call. A man was robbed of his gold chain, medallion, and watch at gunpoint by two male suspects each brandishing a handgun.
 
Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying these suspects. Suspect #1 is described as 5’10” tall with a thin build and a dark-brown complexion. He was wearing all-black clothing, sneakers, and a face mask. Suspect #2 is described as 5’5” tall and also having a dark-brown complexion. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, white sneakers, and yellow gloves.
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of either of these suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
