Fatal Hit & Run Traffic Collision 
On Monday, April 17th, 2023 at 8:30 PM a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Betteravia Rd. and Oakley Ave. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and was last seen travelling westbound on Betteravia Rd. SMPD responded to investigate.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene. He was identified but his name is being withheld pending proper notification to his next of kin.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored sedan. If you have any information please contact the Santa Maria Police Department Traffic Bureau. This investigation is ongoing.
