The Green Bay Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic crash on the City’s west side that has resulted in the death of a pedestrian, whom police are working to identify.
Officers were dispatched on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at approximately 1:15 p.m. to the intersection of W. Mason Street and 16th Avenue for the crash, which detoured traffic until just after 4:30 p.m.
The suspected driver, a 23-year-old Green Bay man, was stopped within minutes of the reported incident and taken into custody by officers near S. Clay Street.
Initial reports indicate possible driver impairment to have been a factor.
Once identified, the name of the deceased will be withheld until the next of kin is notified.
