Avoid the area of Rt. 31 & Airport Rd on Sunday, May 7th from 8-9:30am for bike ride event 
We wanted to let you know to avoid the area of Rt. 31 & Airport Rd. on Sunday, May 7th from 8-9:30am due to intermittent road closures for an organized on-road bike ride event (not a race).
The ride will begin from Pedal & Spoke, 157 S. Lincolnway, go south on Rt. 31 and turn west on Airport Rd. North Aurora Police and Emergency Management personnel will stop traffic when the 1st wave begins at approximately 8am and again when the 2nd wave begins at 9am. The road will close only to get the riders started and Rt. 31 will open up again once all riders are onto Airport Rd. After that riders will ride with traffic and there will be no other road closures. Our goal is to ensure rider and driver safety and keep intermittent closures as short as possible.
We suggest an alternate route north or south such as Rt. 25 or Randall Rd. If you must take Rt 31, consider allowing additional time.
