On Thursday April 20, 2023 at 5:09 AM, officers with the Marion Police Department and McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Teams, executed a narcotics search warrant at the home of Christopher Buchanan and Adam Elliott (2234 Sugar Hill Rd Marion).
Investigators with the McDowell County Narcotics Task Force obtained the search warrant, after an extensive investigation into this location, stemming from citizen complaints. At the time of the warrant service, Buchanan and Elliott were found inside the residence. Officers seized narcotics and a small amount of currency. Both Buchanan and Elliott were arrested and charged with the following crimes:
Christopher Scott Buchanan, 46 years of age
1 count Felony Possession of Sch II Controlled Substance
1 count Felony Manufacture/Sale/Deliver/Possess a Controlled Substance within 1000ft of a School
1 count Felony Possess with Intent to Manufacture/Sale/Deliver Sch II Controlled Substance
1 count Felony Maintain a Vehicle or Dwelling for a Controlled Substance
Buchanan was placed into the custody of the McDowell County Jail, under a $115,000 secured bond.
Adam Jason Elliott, 41 years of age
1 count Felony Possession Sch II Controlled Substance
1 count Felony Maintain Vehicle or Dwelling for a Controlled Substance
Elliott was placed into the custody of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Jail under a $20,000 secured bond.
