Update: Green Bay Police Identify Victim of Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash; Suspected Driver Charged
The Green Bay Police Department is able to release that the pedestrian who died as a result of a hit-and-run traffic crash on W. Mason Street is Roselita Helms, 73, Green Bay.
Officers were dispatched on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at approximately 1:15 p.m. to the intersection of W. Mason Street and 16th Avenue, where Helms was struck while attempting to cross the roadway.
The suspected driver, Trevor Scheel, 23, Green Bay, was stopped within minutes of the reported incident and taken into custody by officers near S. Clay Street.
The Brown County District Attorney’s Office charged Scheel on April 20, 2023:
- Homicide by Intoxicated Use of Vehicle
- Hit and Run – Resulting in Death
