Advisory

SHERIFF LEVON ALLEN’S Elite Cobra Unit puts a quick stop to another “Kia Boy”.

The self-proclaimed “Kia Boys” have had an extensive multi-state car theft racket, leaving the owners of Kia automobiles in disbelief at their cars having been stolen with the most simple daily use object.

On 4/21/23, The Elite Cobra Unit located yet another stolen Kia. The Cobra Unit planned to box in the stolen automobile at Flat Shoals Rd, but as they reached Riverdale Road, the plan was halted by rush hour traffic. The driver of the Kia, later identified as Timothy Stinson, noticed Cobra behind him and immediately and recklessly turned into oncoming traffic trying to flee into a parking lot.

Emergency blue lights and sirens were activated and a pursuit was initiated. Stinson must have thought that Riverdale Road was a NASCAR track, the Indy 500 or perhaps the Atlanta motor speedway reached speeds of double the posted speed limit.

Stinson drove into the center turn lane, passing vehicles with no regard for his personal safety or the safety of the public. As the pursuit approached Phoenix Blvd on Riverdale Rd, Stinson drove into oncoming traffic at a high rate of speed.

The Elite Cobra Unit was extremely concerned for the safety of the public. Based on his reckless disregard for the safety of the public and himself, a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT)was performed on the driver's side of the vehicle which would place the offender's vehicle on the grass shoulder.

The PIT was successful and the fleeing vehicle was removed from the roadway safely.

The occupants of the vehicle thought that this would be the time to test their endurance and a brief foot chase  ended when they realized that the Corba Unit had members that were track stars also. Stinson ran about 50  yards before he realized he was not getting away.

Stinson stopped and was taken into custody.
