Flood Advisory until 12:15AM Sunday

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the following counties, in southern Connecticut, Fairfield. In northeast New Jersey, Bergen. In southeast New York, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester.

* WHEN...Until 1215 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1022 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to near 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Yonkers, Stamford, White Plains, Hackensack, New City, Port Chester, Bergenfield, Paramus, Ossining, Peekskill, Nanuet, Haverstraw, Tarrytown, Mount Kisco, Dobbs Ferry, Mahopac, Lake Carmel, Nyack, Tappan and Brewster. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
