San Anselmo, CA – April 23, 2023.  Central Marin Police are investigating a hate incident that occurred this week in San Anselmo. 

On Sunday, April 23. 2023, a man returned to his San Anselmo home in the 100 block of Austin Avenue. He saw a small plastic bag in the grass near his driveway.  The bag contained two pamphlets with anti-Semitic language and pebbles presumably used to weigh the bag down.  The man did not see anyone in his neighborhood or notice any other suspicious activity.

Investigating officers took the bag and pamphlets as evidence.  Officers searched the neighborhood for additional bags and surveillance cameras facing the street that may have captured the suspect(s) or their vehicle.  Officers located an additional bag containing the same pamphlets during their search. 

This case has been sent to the Marin County District Attorney’s Office for information regarding this hate speech incident.
