SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR DOWNTOWN SHOOTING
On April 9, 2023, at approximately 11:34 p.m., Morgan Hill Police Officers responded to the rear of the
M & H Tavern, located at 17365 Monterey Road, to investigate the report of gunshots being heard. Multiple callers reported hearing gun shots, however, a suspect was not immediately identified. Officers arrived on scene and discovered there was a confrontation between two groups in the parking lot and the gunshots emanated from the vicinity of the confrontation. The initial investigation determined that no one was shot during the incident.
The investigation identified the suspect as Gregory Rodriguez, 21 years old, from Morgan Hill. On April 21, 2023, Rodriguez was arrested when he appeared in court on an unrelated matter. Rodriguez was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for willful discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner and two additional felonies of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
