Please be advised the 2023 Denville municipal road resurfacing list has been finalized and the following roads have been approved for resurfacing (please note, the roads that contain “NJNG” after them are being resurfaced by New Jersey Natural Gas):

The following roads are being paved partially as part of a phased resurfacing approach to certain longer roads:

At this time, the specific paving schedule is unknown but will occur in phases sometime from the beginning of June to the end of October. Once the roads are prepped by the Denville Department of Public Works and a grouping of roads in scheduled for paving, the Township will post the specific schedule on its website as well as send out Nixle alerts. It should also be noted that in accordance with Section 500-25 (B) of the Township Code, once a road is paved a 5-year moratorium is implemented which prohibits homeowners, contractors and/or utility companies from opening the road except for emergency situations as narrowly defined in Section 500-33 of the Township Code. Therefore, if residents intend to voluntarily connect to public water, natural gas or otherwise make improvements that will require the opening of the public roadway, all work must be completed prior to the resurfacing occurring. Otherwise, the next possible time road open permits can be approved is 5-years from the date the paving was completed.
