Fatal Vehicle Collision
Union City, CA – On Thursday, March 23, 2023, around 9:34 PM, Union City Police Officers responded to the area of Dyer Street and San Marco Court to investigate a major traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle. When officers arrived, they contacted a pedestrian who was laying on the roadway unresponsive. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the collision and has cooperated with the investigation.
On 4/19/23 at 10:58 AM, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The deceased has been identified as Arturo Balcita Marquez (76-year-old male from Hayward).
The Union City Police Department understands that this is a tragic incident for everyone involved and would like to express our condolences to the families.
