This morning at 5:20 am, Culver City Police Officers responded to a call for service regarding a catalytic converter theft in progress where the suspect pointed a firearm at the victim in the 3300 Block of Cattaraugus Avenue.
 
Officers met with the victim who advised them that he heard sawing noises coming from outside and noticed the suspect standing near his vehicle. The victim went outside and the suspect pointed a firearm at him, at which time the victim went inside and called CCPD. The suspect fled in a vehicle with a loud exhaust (No vehicle description).

Suspect Description: Male Hispanic, approximately 25 years old.
 
Weapon: Handgun
 
Prevention Tips: Park in well-lit areas, install an anti-theft device, install motion sensitive lights and cameras near your parking area.
 
If you notice someone tampering with your vehicle, stay inside and call 911.
