* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following county, Gaston.

* WHEN...Until 900 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated along the South Fork Catawba River.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 600 AM EDT, Gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms overnight, leading to rises on the South Fork Catawba River near Lowell. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen since yesterday morning. - South Fork Catawba River floodwaters have likely entered Riverside Park in Cramerton. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Gastonia, Belmont, Dallas, Stanley, Cramerton, Lowell, Ranlo, High Shoals, Mcadenville, Lake Wylie and Crouse. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
