Spring is here and so is Construction Season.
Subject: Alleys Mill and Paving Throughout the City
Dear Resident/Business Owner:
Mayor Anthony Copeland and the City of East Chicago are proud to announce the beginning of a new construction season. This phase of construction will take place in various Districts throughout the City and should be completed in approximately three (3) weeks.
The alley pavement replacement project will be conducted by various construction companies. Contractors anticipate on working Monday through Saturday, between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm within the following alleyway areas.
42nd block between Northcote & Homerlee
41st & 42nd blocks between Indy & Magoun
44th block between 145th & Olcott
55th - Roxanna blocks between Walsh & White Oak
151st block between Indy & Magoun
48th & 49th & 50th block between Tod & Olcott
Olcott & 149th Place (McCook)
41st block between Fir & Elm
37th & 38th block between Parrish & Ivy
37th block between Elm & Deodar
During construction, there may be temporary and/or complete closures restricting the alleyway.
We hope this information is helpful. We will continue to provide project updates as this project progresses. Please be careful when traveling through the construction site. There will be a number of large pieces of construction equipment and many workers on site. Also, please avoid walking on the newly poured asphalt alleys.
