ROHNERT PARK – On April 27th 2023 at approximately 8:39 PM, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety received several 9-1-1 calls regarding a shooting that occurred in the 100 block of Madrigal St in the Rancho Feliz Mobile Home Park. Initial reports indicated the gunman fled the area in an unknown vehicle and one victim was struck by gunfire.
 
Officers arrived within 4 minutes of the call and witnesses pointed to the area of the intersection of Loredo St and Madrigal St where the victim, a 52 year old male from Rohnert Park, was being treated by bystanders. Officers on scene determined the victim had been shot once resulting in serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was treated on scene by officers and medical personnel then transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
 
Detectives responded to the scene and were able to locate video surveillance of the vehicle involved in the shooting as well as interview witnesses.  On April 28th, Detectives, with the assistance of Officers with the Rohnert Park Community Problem Solving Team, were able to identify two suspects involved in the shooting.
 
The suspects, 29 year old Sebastopol resident Jeffrey Arreaga and 24 year old Rohnert Park resident Edgar Garcia were taken into custody during traffic stops after investigators located them in Rohnert Park. Evidence related to the crime was located in a vehicle Arreaga was driving. Jeffrey Arreaga was charged with 664/187(a) PC, Attempted Murder, 182(a)(1) PC, Conspiracy and 30305(a)(1) PC, Convicted Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Edgar Garcia was charged with Felony Violation of Probation and 182(a)(1) PC Conspiracy. Both were booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
    
Rohnert Park Detectives interviewed the victim and he is expected to make a full recovery.
