* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast New Jersey, including the following areas, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic and Western Union.

* WHEN...From Noon EDT today through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Anywhere from 1.5 to 3.5 inches of rain has fallen over the past 24 to 36 hours, and another 1 to 1.5 inches of rain with locally higher amounts is expected to fall today through tonight, mostly during the afternoon and evening hours. Although rainfall rates might not reach an inch per hour, chances of flash flooding have been enhanced due to the recent rainfall. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
