INDIANAPOLIS-Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in the recent homicide investigation of 15-year-old Derrick Houston Jr. (pictured).
On Thursday, April 20, 2023, at approximately 6:40 a.m., IMPD East District officers responded to the intersection of N. Brentwood Avenue and Breen Drive on a report of a person shot. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital in critical condition. Shortly after arrival, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
IMPD homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to identify and collect potential forensic evidence.
To date, no arrest has been made, and detectives are asking the public for help gathering any information regarding this case.
