On 05-02-2023 at 1:44am, deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash at US Hwy 40 and Main St in eastern Vigo County. A vehicle driven by 40 year old Jennifer Yockey failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle traveling on US Hwy 40. The vehicles crashed causing injuries the occupants of both vehicles. The driver of the other vehicle was transported via medical helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment. A passenger in that vehicle was transported to a local hospital. Jennifer Yockey was transported to a local hospital for treatment as well. After being treated, Yockey was taken into custody and taken to the Vigo County Jail charged with the following- Leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious bodily injury while intoxicated. Operating a vehicle while intoxicated with bodily injury. Operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a controlled substance in the body. John Plasse Vigo County Sheriff
