ROAD CLOSURES
On Sunday May 7th, the Annual Highland Park 5k Race & Street Fair will take place. Raritan Avenue will be closed to traffic from 2nd through 5th Avenues from approximately 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Expect heavy traffic and possible delays due to detours which will direct traffic to alternate routes. Be aware of parking restrictions in effect along Raritan Avenue, Magnolia Street, Denison Street, and several other streets that intersect Raritan Avenue. If you are parked in violation of the parking restrictions, your vehicle is subject to being towed.
Special attention to north side residents. A 5k race scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. will travel through several streets on the north side. If you are a resident of any of the following streets, it is
recommended that you move any parked vehicles from the street and refrain from driving until runners are clear of the course.
- North 5th Avenue between Abbott Street and Raritan Avenue
- Walter Avenue
- Lincoln Avenue between Walter Avenue and Lawrence Avenue
- Lawrence Avenue between Lincoln Ave and North 2nd Avenue
- North 2nd Avenue between Lawrence Avenue and Cleveland Avenue
- Madison Avenue between Cleveland Avenue and North 4th Avenue
- North 4th Avenue between Madison Avenue and Lincoln Avenue
- South Park Avenue between North 5th and North 8th Avenues
- No 8th Avenue between South Park Avenue and Abbott Street
- Abbott between North 8 th Avenue and North 5th Avenue
