INCIDENT: Missing Person Located
LOCATION: Sunfair Dry Lake
MISSING PERSON(S): Daniel Lindell, 51-year-old Male Resident of Chehalis, Washington
SUMMARY: On April 17, 2023, at approximately 7:45 a.m., family reported Daniel Lindell missing and they had not had contact with Lindell since April 8, 2023. Lindell’s last known location was the Wal-Mart in Yucca Valley. Family was worried about his health. Lindell was travelling in his Dutchman class “C” motorhome and usually phoned family when he would stop in the town of Yucca Valley for supplies. Lindell’s family requested deputies enter him into the missing person database.
Detectives from the Morongo Basin Station contacted Joshua Tree National Park Rangers and advised of the missing person. Detectives and Park Rangers searched the surrounding areas frequented by campers in an attempt to locate Lindell. Lindell was reported to also frequent Ridgecrest. Detectives contacted Ridgecrest Police Department and advised of the missing person.
On April 28, 2023, at approximately 4:00 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Station searched the Sunfair Dry Lake. A motorhome matching Lindell's was located. Lindell was found deceased inside the motorhome. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner Division responded to the location. Upon investigation, Lindell’s death appeared natural.
