On July 5, 2016, four-year-old Salvador “Chavita” Esparza was shot and killed as he stood in the doorway of a residence located on the 300 block of Figueroa Drive, Altadena. Salvador was the innocent victim shot in the crossfire of a gang related incident.
On May 3, 2023, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger increased the reward to $75,000 for information leading to the rearrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this tragic murder.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are requesting the public’s help and are asking anyone with information to contact LASD Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
