Spring Fire Hydrant Flushing has begun, west of the GSP is complete and east of the GSP will continue through May 15 
Township of Barnegat Water Department has been conducting the Spring Fire Hydrant Flushing Program. This procedure is necessary to ensure water quality, remove sediment build-up from water mains and check fire hydrants for proper operation.
West of the Garden State Parkway has been completed and east of the Garden State Parkway will continue through May 15, 2023.
During this period, a temporary discoloration and loss of water pressure may be noticed. Do not be alarmed. The water should clear up by allowing your tap to run for a short period of time.
