Through joint investigations between Neighborhood Police officers, Patrol officers, School Liaison, PACE, and Juvenile Investigators, a suspect was identified and arrested. The 15-year-old male was booked in jail at the Youth Center of the High Plains for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The Juvenile Investigation Unit is assigned to the case.
***Original Release***
On Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 4:06pm, officers were sent to the area of 800 S. Belleview on a shots fired call. Several residents in the area called in on the same incident. When officers arrived, they found a juvenile male had been shot and had non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated at the scene by AMR. The suspect is thought to be another juvenile. The Amarillo Police Juvenile Investigation Unit is on scene. This is an ongoing investigation.
