2 Arrested and 30 Cited at Novato Police DUI Checkpoint
Novato, Calif. – On Friday, May 5, 2023, two individuals were arrested for DUI. 30 citations were issued, including 26 citations for unlicensed driving and 4 for driving on a suspended/revoked license.
The DUI checkpoint was held at DeLong Ave and Redwood Blvd. 1,468 vehicles were contacted with 83 drivers directed to a secondary screening area.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
